The Ellis Hotel Earns the Good Earthkeeping Award For Division One Hotels

Atlanta, Ga. – March 4, 2010 - The Ellis Hotel, downtown Atlanta’s newest
chic boutique hotel, has been recognized with the Good Earthkeeping -
Division One Award at the Stars of the Lodging Industry Award Ceremony.
The Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association gives the Good Earthkeeping
award to hotels annually for developing eco-friendly practices and
experiences. 
 
The Good Earthkeeping Award recognizes lodging properties that have developed a culture
toward integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations
and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations. The
program must demonstrate success in one or more of the following areas: energy conservation,
solid waste reduction, effluents and emissions, water conservation, purchasing, and business
issues. Division One represents hotels in the entire state are of Georgia that similar in size, 150
rooms or less.
 
“We earned this award thanks to all of the Green Team’s focus, dedication and guidance,” says
Stacy Martin, general manager, The Ellis Hotel. “This a great honor and I am very proud of our
entire staff.”
 
The Stars of the Lodging Industry Awards program was created more than 40 years ago by the
American Hotel & Lodging Association to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the
lodging industry. The Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association hosts its own awards program for the
state to honor those lodging employees and properties that best symbolize the quality service of
the industry.
