The Hilton Garden Inn Uniontown is looking to hire a Banquet Captain to help us create exceptional events for our guests at the hotel. 


Our Banquet Captain holds a leadership position in managing and overseeing events, ensuring smooth operations for banquets, conferences, and other group events. Here’s a general job description:


Job Summary: The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the banquet team during events to ensure excellent service and guest satisfaction. This role includes overseeing event setups and food service and ensuring smooth execution of all aspects of the event.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination & Setup:
       Ensure the proper setup of banquet rooms according to the event specifications.
    • Coordinate with the kitchen and event planning teams to ensure timely food and beverage service.
    • Verify that tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment are set up to client specifications.
    • Manage event flow, ensuring that all scheduled activities proceed as planned.
  • Team Supervision:
       Lead, train, and motivate the banquet service staff to deliver high-quality service.
    • Assign tasks to team members during the event, ensuring proper distribution of duties.
    • Provide guidance and coaching to staff, ensuring they maintain high standards of service.
  • Guest Interaction:
    • Greet guests and ensure their satisfaction throughout the event.
    • Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Ensure that all special requests are handled in a timely manner.
  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages being served.
    • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the event area during the event.
    • Oversee the closing of events, including breakdown and cleanup of the event space.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior food and beverage or banquet or event service experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift moderate to heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
