Position Summary:
The Chetola Resort seeks a highly motivated and talented Chef de Cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team at our on-site Timberlake's Restaurant. In this key role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the success of our full-service resort restaurant, and banquet operations. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee and supervise all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Supervision & Staff Management:
- Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
- Train and mentor staff on culinary techniques, food safety procedures, and kitchen sanitation
- Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Schedule staff effectively to meet operational demands.
- Food Production & Quality Control:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, including seasonal specials and banquet menus.
- Ensure the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that meet or exceed guest expectations.
- Maintain strict quality control standards for all food items.
- Monitor food costs and inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Kitchen Operations & Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate necessary maintenance.
- Assist with ordering and receiving of food and supplies.
- Guest Service:
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns.
- Build strong relationships with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in a high-volume, full-service kitchen.
- Strong culinary skills, including knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Food Safety Certification preferred but not required
