Position Summary:

The Chetola Resort seeks a highly motivated and talented Chef de Cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team at our on-site Timberlake's Restaurant. In this key role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the success of our full-service resort restaurant, and banquet operations. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee and supervise all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Supervision & Staff Management: 
    • Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
    • Train and mentor staff on culinary techniques, food safety procedures, and kitchen sanitation 
    • Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
    • Schedule staff effectively to meet operational demands.
  • Food Production & Quality Control: 
    • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, including seasonal specials and banquet menus.
    • Ensure the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that meet or exceed guest expectations.
    • Maintain strict quality control standards for all food items.
    • Monitor food costs and inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Kitchen Operations & Maintenance: 
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
    • Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate necessary maintenance.
    • Assist with ordering and receiving of food and supplies.
  • Guest Service: 
    • Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns.
    • Build strong relationships with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
    • Contribute to a positive and welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in a high-volume, full-service kitchen.
  • Strong culinary skills, including knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Food Safety Certification preferred but not required

Requirements

Previous cooking experience is required.

Previous leadership in a kitchen is preferred.
