CHIEF ENGINEER

The Chetola Resort is one of the top destination resorts in the Carolinas.  Located in iconic Blowing Rock, the resort is only 90 minutes from the Charlotte Airport.  Chetola spans 140+ acres, offers award-winning amenities, and is the largest private employer in town.   

Chetola Resort is currently seeking a Chief Engineer to manage general and preventative maintenance functions to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the resort structure.

      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manages all aspects of construction projects
• Secure licenses, permits, work with budgets, and establish supply chains
• Oversee construction processes and provide guidance to workers and comply with building codes and regulations
• Manage and coordinate repairs, bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd party vendors
• Oversee large and small projects and manage and report on the work in progress
• Install or repair drywall/ceilings, and other wall coverings
• Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected
• Supervises and assists engineering staff in maintaining and repair fire and life safety systems, room equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment, pool equipment, lighting, laundry equipment and other systems as directed
• Monitors tool inventories
• Monitors Supplies
• Maintains working spaces in safe and clean condition
• Other duties as directed

General contractors license required

Must be available holidays and weekends
