The Hilton Austin Airport has been recently renovated and is located in the historical Air Force command building right on the airport property. We’re proud to be Austin’s gateway full service hotel. The Hotel is looking for a Banquet Server to join our Banquet team in providing exceptional service to our guests.
Our guests are our most important asset. Involvement, teamwork, and commitment are the values that govern our work. This position provides service of food and beverage in the banquet rooms. This role requires you to adhere to the hotel and brand standards. You will also be required to be friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional, always offering our guest a high level of satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Serve banquet functions and ensure the event is executed according to the BEO.
2. Responsible for setting up tables and buffet using linen, china, glass and silver that is always clean, polished and free of visible wear and tear.
3. Retrieve appropriate items for set-ups.
4. Clear tables and buffets using trays and tray stands.
5. Communicate with guests, supervisors, and co-workers in a courteous manner at all times.
6. Immediately responds to any potential dangerous conditions, i.e., wet floor,
7. Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
8. Ensures cleanliness of banquet space including banquet kitchen.
9. Honors all guest requests--to go out of our way to accommodate our customer’s special needs remembering that “NO” is never the answer to our guests’ request.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Attends company orientation and other meetings as required.
2. Adheres to all policies and procedures.
3. Must adhere to all Federal, State and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Ramp certification preferred.
4. Is expected to perform any related duty as requested by supervisor.
5. Teamwork.
6. Follows safety, security and emergency procedures and rules.
7. Utilizes protective equipment.
8. Reports accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses, defective equipment, property damage or loss to supervisor.
Physical Demands/Abilities:
1. Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service.
2. Communicate effectively with guests and coworkers, i.e., provide information, answer questions, etc.
3. Stand and/or walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
4. Must be able to carry trays weighing up to thirty (30) pounds, which is equal to 8 plates with covers, through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift. Must be able to push and pull weight equaling one hundred (100) pounds.
5. Require manual dexterity.
6. Work in an environment that is noisy, demanding and physical with fluctuating adverse temperatures.
7. Frequent reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, walking, standing, stair climbing, handling, and smiling.
