Restaurant Manager

The Chetola Resort is one of the top destination resorts in the Carolinas.  Located in iconic Blowing Rock, the resort is only 90 minutes from the Charlotte Airport.  Chetola spans 140+ acres, offers award-winning amenities, and is the largest private employer in town.  

Our on-site Timberlakes Restaurant is looking for a Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain profitability while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and coordinate all restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff, including front-of-house 
• Scheduling employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage
• Ensure a positive dining experience for all guests, addressing complaints and resolving issues promptly
• Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and track costs to minimize waste and maintain profitability
• Create and manage budgets, track expenses, and monitor revenues to ensure profitability
• ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace regulations
• Maintain high standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness
• Develop and implement promotional strategies to attract customers and increase sales
• Address and resolve conflicts between staff members or with customers in a professional manner
• Facilitate effective communication between staff, management, and customers

Skills and experience required:

2+ years of experience in a Supervisory position in the food industry, preferably in fine dining

• Leadership to guide and inspire the staff
• Understanding of how food industry works
• Strong organizational skills for unexpected circumstances, such as staffing shortages or unhappy customers
• Financial knowledge to manage the budget effectively and keep the restaurant profitable
• Analytical skills to interpret reports and make data driven decisions
• Experience using restaurant management software
• Customer service and interpersonal skills to create positive relationships
